About Karrie

Karrie Howard is a highly experienced and skilled attorney. Karrie currently serves as Counsel at Thacker Robinson Zinz (TRZ) LPA where his practice is focused on criminal and civil litigation. As a former Assistant Prosecutor for the City of Cleveland, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Cuyahoga County, and Assistant United States Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio, Karrie has successfully litigated countless criminal matters ranging from misdemeanors to complex state and federal felony cases. His appellate experience includes arguing before the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. As an Assistant United States Attorney, Karrie also served as the Deputy District Office Security Manager, and Immigration Border Security and Enforcement Coordinator for the Northern District of Ohio.

In addition to private practice, Karrie serves in the United States Air Force Reserves as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate at the Youngstown Air Reserves Station. As a JAG Officer, Karrie advises military leadership and civilian personnel on ethical matters as well as a variety of legal issues relating to taxes, contracts, land use and violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Karrie earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from DeVry University, shortly after he completed active duty service in the United States Marine Corp. Later, he earned a Juris Doctorate from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law; and certificates in Leadership and Human Resource Management from University of Maryland University College.

Karrie lives in South Euclid with his wife Valissa, daughter Kaila, and sons Terique, Kuhri and Mason.  His professional associations include the American Legion (at-large), Veterans of Foreign Wars #343, the Military Officers of America Association, the Norman S. Minor Bar Association, Prince Hall F&AM, Masonic Lodge of William T. Boyd #79, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Zeta Kappa Kappa Chapter, and 100 Black Men of Greater Cleveland.
